M4A3 Clone - Colt LE 6920 Carbine

The Colt LE6920 is a semi-auto version of the U.S. M4 Carbine.

Colt LE6920 Outfitted as a Special Operations Carbine with a SOPMOD rail and butt stock, Eotech holographic sight and Surefire flashlight.

The Colt M4 Carbine 6920 is a semi-automatic version of the Colt M4 Carbine issued to the U.S. Armed Services.  Other than having a semi-automatic receiver, and trigger group, and a 1.6” longer barrel; it is the same gun as produced for the military.

The M4 Carbine is the latest version of the M-16 used by the U.S. Military.  It has all of the M16A2 features with a shorter, 14.5” barrel, collapsible stock, and flat top upper receiver.  Other than some Armalite test guns, Colt was the original manufacturer of the M-16.  Colt was also the exclusive Manufacturer of the M4 Carbine for the U.S. Military from 1994 to 2009.  Since 2009, both Colt and FN (Fabrique Nationale) have manufactured M4 Carbines for the U.S. Military.

Since they are the actual military manufacturer, certain civilian versions of the Colt (and FN) are true mil spec.  The LE 6920 is a semi-automatic version of the M4 originally sold to law enforcement and the closest copy a civilian can get of a military M4.  Though called a law enforcement model, with LE prefixed serial numbers, this model can be purchased by civilians in many states.   Colt makes several versions of the M4 and AR-15 (Semi-automatic M16) but the 6920 is the closest to the military issue guns.

Being true mil spec the Colts have several difference from normal M4 Carbine clones (except FN and some Stag Arms).  These differences include:

        - Staked stock buffer tubes and bolt carrier keys.

        - Chrome lined, 1 in 7 twist barrel with M4 Carbine feed ramps.

        - Full Auto Bolt Carrier.

        - Proof tested and magnetic particle inspected bolt groups.

        - Inspection markings indicating milspec quality tests for various components.

        - Double shielded hand guards.  These are often replaced by a rail system.

        - Colt rollmarks and barrel markings.

Being built to true military specifications means that the Colts tend to be more a little more reliable and accurate than most of the clones costing less than $2,000.  Colts are also the most collectible brand of firearm and thus, the Colts tend to go up in value over time, if well cared for.

The M4s are very popular due to their modularity.  Replacing the hand guards with a rail system enables one to fit all manner of primary and backup sights; lasers, weapon lights, and bipods.  This has revolutionized combat.  Some may argue that the M4 lacks takedown power, but with the latest optics and other devices, the percentage of hits on enemy targets in combat has increased dramatically, with even headshots being common past 100 yards.  The gun shown above has the following accessories installed:

        - A.R.M.S. 40 A2 Back Up Iron Sight (BUIS)

        - B5 SOPMOD Stock with Battery Compartments.

        - Eotech 552 Holographic, Night Vision Capable, Red Dot Sight.

        - Knights Armament RAS (Rail Attachment System) with Knights Armament RAS Panels and Handgrip.

        - Surefire M952X Weapons Light on QD Mount and with IR Filter.

        - Steiner DBAL-I2 IR/Visible Laser

        - Magpul Gen 3 PMAG 30 with Window.

        - Side Sign Swivel Attachment at front sight.

        - Blackhawk 3 Tactical Point Sling with QD Buckle.
